FAQ's
What is wrinkle reduction?
Wrinkle redcution treatment is a prescription-only medicine that temporarily reduces nerve signals to targeted muscles or sweat glands. Depending on the area treated, it can be used for a range of cosmetic and medical concerns.
What can wrinkle reduction treatment be used for?
Treatment can be considered for concerns including expression lines on the face, excessive sweating and selected facial concerns such as a gummy smile, chin dimpling or prominent jaw muscles.
How quickly will I see a difference?
The effects usually begin to become noticeable within a few days, with the result continuing to develop over approximately two weeks. Timing can vary depending on the treatment area and the individual.
How long do the effects last?
This varies between people and treatment areas. For many facial treatments, effects commonly last around three to four months, while treatment for excessive sweating may last longer.
Will I still be able to move my face?
If that's you end goal! It all depends on the dose and the result you are looking for. Your consultation gives you the opportunity to discuss how much movement you would like to retain and what is realistically achievable.
Is the treatment painful?
Most treatments involve several small injections and are completed relatively quickly. You may feel brief discomfort at each injection point, but treatment is generally well tolerated.
Is there any downtime?
Usually very little. Small bumps, redness, tenderness or bruising can occur around the injection sites and normally settle. You’ll be given appropriate aftercare advice following your treatment.
Are there any side effects?
Temporary effects can include redness, tenderness, swelling, bruising or headache. Depending on the area treated, unwanted weakness of nearby muscles or asymmetry can also occur if treatment is not performed correctly.
Can I have treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Botulinum toxin treatment is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
